Tiger Stripe gets its name from the unique tiger like patterns on the sheeths of each cane. With its large leaf and dense appearance this beautiful plant is a fantastic tropical looking screening bamboo and is a great alternative to many of the other bamboos that are commonly used for screening. This bamboo does not like frosts, so a frost free environment is required to look its best. Tiger will do well in full sun to part shade.

Golden Goddess is a superior species to that of the Multiplex family as it is more resilient to pests and disease than some of the other hedging species. Mealy Bug and Black Sooty Mould are common in the Multiplex species and this can be a problem for those that are wanting a low maintenance bamboo hedge. Although this cultivar is less prone to these pests it may succumb to pest infection if the plant gets stressed. Golden Goddess makes a fantastic hedge and is best planted in groups at 2m spacing’s. This is a very beautiful clumping bamboo that is commonly used as an ornamental bamboo.  It is very popular and regarded as one of the world’s most stunning looking bamboos. Ghost Bamboo will grow to a maximum height of 8m with a very tight clumping habit and large dense foliage making it a very popular choice and an attractive species for the smaller garden space. The culms of this species are yellow-green in appearance with green stripes running the length of the cane. Ghost Bamboo is also very tolerant of frost and drought making this bamboo very easy to grow here in Perth. Prefers a sunny or partly shaded position.

This very popular bamboo that does extremely well here in Perth’s climate. A very attractive and erect growing bamboo, it does very well in smaller spaces. The cane on this bamboo is striated with gold stripes and this is often seen on the leaf at times. This variety enjoys our sunshine, so give it plenty to get the most out of it. This bamboo will grow to its maximum height in less than 3 years, depending on the growing conditions. China Gold will create a beautiful hedge due to its strong branching down low, great for blocking out the neighbours. Its best use is as an outstanding ornamental in the garden landscape. This is one of our biggest sellers and is used extensively as a screening or feature plant in the tropical garden. Keep this plant in a protected position from strong winds and water well. Give it a hard cut back every few years to keep it looking its best.
